Culture Management in Mongolia

The Arts & Media Project Management & Consulting NGO, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sciences and Sports of Mongolia and the Institute for Culture and Media Economics (IKMW), are jointly conducting an advanced training program on “KUMA - Culture management in Mongolia” for the first time from 2019 to 2021. The aim of this pilot project is to promote cultural infrastructure by advancing management skills of cultural institutions. It aims also to further qualify young and upcoming managers for Mongolian museums, theatres, dance and multidisciplinary institutions.

The aim is to provide the participants with universally applicable management tools for cultural organizations as well as to enhance their understanding and capability for international exchange or coproduction projects.

10-12 executing managers and creative directors from both private and public cultural institutions in Mongolia, established partners of the AMPMC NGO and Ministry of Education, Culture, Sciences and Sports of Mongolia, are participating in the program annually. It offers them the opportunity to exchange ideas, concepts and procedures of their institutions and to collaborate with cultural institutions in Germany.

The program is intended to initiate the development of a sustainable Mongolian network and results in transfer projects with partner institutions in Germany.
