CALL FOR ALL TALENTED RESEARCHERS AND PROFESSIONALS TO SHOWCASE THEIR MOST INNOVATIVE IDEAS


Falling Walls Lab is a world-class pitch competition, networking forum, and steppingstone that brings together a diverse and interdisciplinary pool of students and early-career professionals by providing a stage for breakthrough ideas both globally and locally. The multifaceted formats support participants in driving their innovations and develop their communication skills, fostering collaboration and creating a space for the impactful and sustainable community to thrive.


Each year, renowned academic institutions around the world organise their own Falling Walls Lab to showcase the quality, diversity, and passion of their region’s most innovative minds. In three minutes each, participants are given the opportunity to present their solutions to some of the most pressing challenges of our time to peers, a high-calibre jury, and the general public. The winner of each international Lab qualifies for the global finale in Berlin on 7 November and wins a ticket to attend the Falling Walls Science Summit, where they get to interact and network with the world’s movers and shakers of science, business, and policymaking


Falling Walls Lab Mongolia’23 will take place on 25th September 2023 at 14:00 o’clock at the Library of the National University of Mongolia, Conference Room 502 and via zoom.us as a hybrid event.  


It is hosted by the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia as an official partner and organized by the Arts & Media Project Management & Consulting NGO (AMPMC) in cooperation with the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) and the Cultural Envoy of Mongolia to the Federal Republic of Germany, Oyuntuya Oyunjargal. It is supported by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES) and the National University of Mongolia (NUM).

Winners of the lab will not only travel to Berlin but can also qualify for the Innovation Week /10-16 November 2022/, a one-week training event for international start-up founders.


Falling Walls Lab Mongolia’22 will take place on 26th May 2022 at 14:00 o’clock at the Library of the National University of Mongolia, Conference Room 502 and via zoom.us as a hybrid event.

JOIN A FALLING WALLS ENGAGE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY &

MEET THE GREATEST MINDS IN SCIENCE!


The Falling Walls ENGAGEx Ulaanbaatar international online event on ‘The Future of Learning ’ for science engager and outreach projects will bring together Mongolian and international perspectives on Science Engagement through Digital Education. The conference will include insights from both academic institutions and education programmes for children and youth – from exchange platforms to Virtual Reality and distance learning – with special contributions from the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES) in India, Namibia and the UK, UNICEF Mongolia, the National University of Mongolia (NUM) and the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT). 


This virtual event is co-organized by the Falling Walls Engage , in cooperation with the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT), the Arts & Media Project Management & Consulting NGO (AMPMC) and Cultural Envoy of Mongolia in Germany , and supported by the official partners as the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Mongolia, the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) , and the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES) .


Science Engagers who are willing to value their contribution to the socio-economic field with their research and initiatives are invited to participate in the
Falling Walls  ENGAGEx Ulaanbaatar  international virtual event, and share their experiences in Science, Technology, Innovation, Society and Education.

FALLING WALLS LAB MONGOLIA’ 22

FALLING WALLS LAB   MONGOLIA

The Falling Walls Lab is an international forum for the next generation of early-career innovators, trailblazers, creators, and visionaries. lts aim is to promote exceptional ideas and connect promising scientists and entrepreneurs from all fields on a global Level. Participants are given the opportunity to participate in a pitch competition and present their research, business model, or initiative to peers, a high-calibre jury of experts from academia and business, and the general public.

Mongolia joined the network in early 2019 and since then has given Mongolian talented researchers and professionals the opportunity to showcase their most innovative ideas. The Falling Walls Lab Mongolia takes place in the second week of September in Ulaanbaatar.

In three minutes each, participants try to convince a high-calibre jury of their solutions to some of the most pressing challenges of our time. Past presentations have ranged in topic from 'Breaking the Wall of Cancer with a Fruit Fly' to 'Breaking the Wall of Energy lnsecurity in Africa. The breakthrough factor and potential impact of the presented work help determine the winner, who qualifies for the global Finale in Berlin on 8 November and wins a ticket to attend the Falling Walls Conference, where they get to interact with the world's movers and shakers of science, business, and policy-making. At the Finale, the 100 Finalists compete to become the Breakthrough Winner in the Emerging Talents category of Falling Walls, taking harne the title and prize money, and receiving the opportunity to pitch their idea once again on the grand stage of the Falling Walls Conference.

The international network of Falling Walls Labs includes renowned academic institutions from over 60 countries. New York University, the ETH Zurich, Tohoku University, and the University of Cape Town are only a few of the universities that have recently participated in the Falling Walls Lab programme.

The Falling Walls Lab Mongolia is hosted by German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) and organized by Cultural Envoy of Mongolia Mrs. Oyuntuya Oyunjargal in cooperation with Arts & Media Project Management & Consulting NGO (AMPMC) and GMIT. The official partner is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mongolia.
